The 'Working Paper' Scheme
Lonaard would like to announce to scholars, researchers and academics its intention to launch a 'working paper' scheme, under which proposals
for distinguished original research work of up to 40,000 words will be peer-reviewed by International Board of distinguished academics in the
field to be published in a periodical released annually by Lonaard. The 'working paper' will be supervised and edited by
Professor Mashary Al-Naim, a renowned scholar, critic and academic in the Arab Architecture arena.
Call for 'Working Papers'
Lonaard would like to receive 'working' papers of original work that:
- address architecture, urban design or planning issues within the context of Arab architecture, past or present.
- conduct comparative analysis with an overall view to draw conclusions in any subject that advances knowledge and research in architecture.
- put forward a theory, or test a theory, in architecture with a sense of purpose and meaning.
- shed light on the socio-cultural, political, economic aspects of Arab architecture.
- read in a meaningful critical way existing work, in theory or in practice.
- provide a novel approach to better understand architecture and its related arts and sciences.
Submission and Guidelines
Abstract submissions should be approximately 500 words and could be in English or Arabic. Abstract and full paper submissions
should be sent in MS Word format. Abstracts should be e-mailed to
workingpaper@lonaard.com Full paper submissions should adhere to the following guidelines:
- papers should not exceed 40,000 words.
- the use of references should adhere to proper academic writing.
- illustrations, maps, & tables, should be inserted within the text and clearly explained, but also should be sent separately for printing & design purposes.
- papers should be original work not previously published.
- writer(s) can choose between writing in Arabic or in English. However, whichever language used, competence is essential.
- abstracts and articles should contain author(s) name(s), academic rank or title, institution or place of work.
